Northern Metalic Sales is a Canadian Independent Wholesale Industrial Distributor based in Grande Prairie, AB with operations across Alberta & BC.

Northern Metalic Sales is part of a larger, diverse group of companies with interests in wholesale distribution, oilfield service & supply, lubricants distribution, land and real estate development, rail construction & transload, and finance.

Overview:

We are currently seeking an individual to fill the position of Outside Sales / Account Manager, located in Prince George, BC.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Outside Sales / Account Manager’s primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Actively manage existing accounts building client relationships, identifying opportunities and action items through regular meetings/visits
  • Conduct joint calls with expert colleagues
  • Develop new business opportunities by working in your territory, exploring media, collaborating with colleagues
  • Utilize the CRM to aid in managing existing customers, developing prospects, tracking results, monitoring sales pipeline progress and goal setting. With help from your sales manager, design a sales plan for your territory.
  • Develop and implement monthly performance targets to ensure objectives are reached
  • Utilize sales training to prepare for sales calls and differentiate yourself from your competitors
  • Regular reviews (monthly) with the sales manager to identify areas of gaps to goals and sales progress and skill development
  • Provide guidance to the sales support team (inside sales, warehouse staff and delivery personnel) to help direct the prioritization of sales activities
  • Collaborate with the entire sales team in identifying and evaluating potential customers
  • Provide a role model of desired leadership behaviour, a team player, a great communicator, and a mentor. Team members are required to assist in all other areas of the branch. Cross-training in these areas can be expected.

  • Proficient in Excel/Word
  • Previous MRO Selling Experience (at least 2-3 years)
  • Proven account management or other relevant experience.

Job Type:

Full-time position, travel necessary, company vehicle provided. Area coverage includes Prince George, BC and surrounding areas.

  • Monday to Friday
  • Weekends as needed

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Prince George, BC: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (preferred)

Experience:

  • MRO Selling: 2 years (preferred)

Language:

  • English (preferred)
